Arid University launches supply of compost to university research farm

Rawalpindi:February 23: An inauguration ceremony of ‘Supply of Compost to University Research Farm (URF)’ was held on Thursday at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR). Compost is obtained from the decomposed organic material of Mehr Biogas Model which was designed by PMAS-AAUR to meet the domestic needs of biogas and electricity through biomass-bio-energy technology.

HEC Quality Assurance Agency team visits Arid University

Rawalpindi:February 14:The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the committee of experts from various universities of the country visited of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Tuesday. The purpose of the visit was to review the PMAS-AAUR MS/M.Phil/Equivalent & Ph.D Programs’ compliance with the HEC's minimum criteria/guidelines set for these programmes.

QAU ranked among Asia’s top 100 varsities

Rawalpindi:10 February:Quaid-i-Azam University has broken into the top 100 universities of Asia while it is listed among the top 500 in the world, according to the latest rankings issued by the Times Higher Education (THE) at the 2018 Asia Universities Summit in China, local media reported on Thursday. This year, Pakistan only had one varsity in the top 500 and a total of four in the top 1,000 universities in the world.

Royal Colleges of Physicians organises 4th MRCP Paces Course

Rawalpindi:February 9: A five-day Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK) Paces Course was organised by Rawalpindi Medical University here at New Teaching Block in Holy Family Hospital. Rawalpindi Medical University organised the course, 4th of a series under the leadership of Vice Chancellor RMU and Chief Executive Allied Hospitals Professor Muhammad Umar. PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) is designed to test the clinical knowledge and skills of trainee doctors who hope to enter higher specialist training in UK.

New students advised to focus on research activities

Seminar on violence against women held at FJWU

Rawalpindi :23 November:Women Research Centre (WRRC) organised a lecture titled: ‘Women Empowerment and Violence against Women: Issues and Challenges’ to commemorate 16 days of Activism against Gender based violence. No Littering Day celebrated at Fatima Jinnah Women University

Rawalpindi:November 5:National Cleaner Production Centre in collaboration with Army Heritage Foundation celebrated No Littering Day at Ayub National Park, Rawalpindi. The purpose of this activity was to motivate and mobilize people about waste segregation concept. Rawalpindi:October 3: World Rabies Day observed at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Monday, under the theme ‘Zero death in 30.’ The seminar was arranged by PMAS-AAUR Department of Clinical studies, Faculty of Veterinary & animal Sciences at PMAS-AAUR, with an aim to create awareness among people about human & animal rabies and to emphasize on its prevention techniques.

Rawalpindi:22 august: Fruit Fly Management Week from August 21 to 26 commenced at Pir Mehr Ali Shah - Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Monday in compliance with the directions of Secretary Agriculture, Government of Punjab. The objective to observe this week is to promote and practice management practices for management of fruit flies at mass scale in the province. This campaign is being launched in all districts of Punjab simultaneously.
