First merit list of MBBS, BDS admission in UHS

LAHORE:09 November:University of Health Sciences (UHS), Friday, issued the first selection list of candidates admitted to MBBS and BDS programme in public sector medical and dental colleges of the Punjab. The last merit for MBBS remained 91.5455 and that for BDS 93.5000 per cent. Last year, this merit was 89.1485 and 89.0455 per cent respectively. The merit has been calculated as per the weightage formula of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), adding 50 percent of intermediate and 50 percent of admission test marks.

University of Health Sciences displays merit lists

LAHORE:23 October:University of Health Sciences (UHS) has displayed the provisional merit lists for public sector medical and dental colleges of Punjab. Merit lists have been issued in accordance with Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) Admission Regulations, 2019. The merit of the applicants has been calculated by giving equal weight to the higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) and Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) marks.

University of Health Sciences budget approved

LAHORE:22 October:The University of Health Sciences’ (UHS) Board of Governors (BoG) has approved Rs 1,383.277 million budget for the financial year 2019-20. The 41st meeting of UHS board was held here on Monday that was chaired by Justice (Retired) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani. Other members who attended the meeting included Salima Hashmi, Andleeb Abbas, UHS VC Prof Javed Akram and representatives of provincial health and finance departments.

LHC annuls PMDC admission regulations

LAHORE:15 October:The Lahore High Court Monday struck down admission regulations-2019 by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) and directed the University of Health Sciences (UHS) to make admissions as per previous regulations of 2018. Announcing a reserved verdict, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti allowed several petitions and declared the impugned regulations namely MBBS/BDS (admissions, house job and internship) regulations 2019 ultra vires to the Constitution.

I-Day celebrations at University of Health Sciences

LAHORE:20 August: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) and Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM) jointly organised an event here at the varsity on Monday to celebrate Independence Day and launch monsoon tree plantation campaign. University of Health Sciences former vice chancellor Maj Gen (R) Prof Muhammad Aslam gave a presentation on “Journey of Pakistan’. He said that Pakistan came into being with the sacrifices of hundreds and thousands of Muslims. He added that the journey continues and the nation has yet to reach its destination.

MDCAT online registration date extended

Lahore:30 July:University of Health Sciences (UHS) has extended the last date of online registration for Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) until August 01. In a press release issued Monday, the UHS spokesperson said the decision was made to facilitate potential candidates. “We have received several emails for extension in registration date. So far, 75,307 candidates have been registered for MDCAT,” reads the press release.The news.

UHS MDCAT online registration to continue

LAHORE:20th July: University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice-Chancellor Prof Javed Akram has said that online registration process for Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT)-2019 started Friday will continue till July 29. Addressing a press conference at the UHS here Friday, the VC said as per the policy of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) there would be no negative marking in the test this year. Each correct answer would carry one mark and the total marks would be 200. He said there would be no weightage for matriculation marks this year.

UHS becomes member of Asian varsities alliance

LAHORE:12 july: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has become the founder member of South and Southeast Asian Medical Education and Service Alliance (SSAMESA) by signing the Kunming Declaration on Thursday. UHS is only medical university from Pakistan to become the member of this thirteen-nation alliance. UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Javed Akram signed the declaration in Kunming, China, at the end of a meeting of presidents and deans of regional medical universities.

King Edward Medical University and UHS workshop

LAHORE:December 7: Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) in collaboration with King Edward Medical University (KEMU) and University of Health Sciences (UHS) conducted a workshop on “Medical Editing and Publications” in council room of KEMU. Shakirullah Jan, PMDC President, was the chief guest of the workshop while UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Javaid Akram and FJMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Aamer Zaman Khan were guest of honuor.
