Punjab University Senate polls result announced

LAHORE:07 December:Punjab University (PU) has announced the result of its senate's elections on the six seats of principals of affiliated colleges and five seats of registered graduates. According to the poll count on the seats of principals Aslam Pervaiz, Ahsan Mukhtar, Anjum Nizami, Nasreen Aftab, Nuzhatur Rehman and Farah Rasheed got 64, 62, 61, 56, 56 and 53 votes, respectively and won the elections.

Punjab University suspends nine students over clash

LAHORE:01 December: The Punjab University (PU) administration on Saturday suspended nine students of the Punjabi Council and the Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) for their alleged involvement in a clash five days ago. It also cancelled the hostel allotments of these students. The Punjabi Council activists were organsing a rally on campus to welcome the newcomers late on Nov 26 when a group of IJT activists stared gathering outside Hostel No 8 and chanted slogans. Both student groups clashed and resorted to aerial firing as a result of which five of them were injured.

Punjab University to promote ties between Pak, China universities

LAHORE:27 November:Punjab University’s Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Iqbal Chawla has said art has a universal language while adding that China and Pakistan could strengthen bilateral and people to people relations further through fine arts. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a three-day university exchange and art education forum on “China-Pakistan Friendship” jointly organised by PU College of Arts and Design (PUCAD) and Changsha Normal University’ College of Fine Arts and Design at Old Campus here Tuesday.

Punjab University a seminar on World Philosophy Day

LAHORE:22 November:Punjab University Department of Philosophy organised a seminar and while faculty and students also took out a rally to mark World Philosophy Day here on Thursday. In the walk the participants carrying placards and banners highlighted the significance of the subject of philosophy. A seminar on smog organised by Punjab university

LAHORE:21 November: There is a need for creating awareness regarding smog so that citizens could be saved from its bad effects on health, said Environmental Protection Department (EPD) Director Naseemur Rehman. He stated this while addressing a seminar on smog organised by Centre for Coal Technology (CCT) at the Punjab University (PU). Addressing the seminar, the EPD director said that the provincial government had launched an aggressive campaign to cope with issue of smog and conducted the campaign with the collaboration of kiln and factory owners.

Punjab University teachers visit Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum

Punjab University to set up centre for advanced materials

LAHORE:06 November:Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar has said that there is a need to remove missing connection between science and engineering subjects in universities to address the challenges being faced by the country in science and technology. He was addressing the inaugural session of an international symposium, ‘Advanced Energy Storage Materials’, organised by the Department of Physics here on Tuesday. He said PU would establish Centre for Advanced Materials to remove gap between science and engineering.

PUnjab University meeting of Punjab University Law College

Lahore:26 October: Punjab University Officers Welfare Association (PUOWA) organised its general body meeting at the Environmental Law Centre of Punjab University Law College here on Friday. PU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, PUOWA President Jaleel Tariq, Secretary Rana Muzafar Ali and a large number of in-service and retired officers of the university participated in the event. Punjab University, Canadian varsity sign MoU on research

LAHORE: 10 October:Punjab University and University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to encourage direct contact, education and research cooperation between the two institutions. The MoU signing ceremony was organised at Vice-Chancellor’s office here Wednesday. PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmed, University of Regina’s President and Vice-Chancellor Vianne Timmons and other were present.

PU moot for implementing UN resolutions on Kashmir

LAHORE:09 October:Speakers at a conference have called upon the need to implement United Nations’ resolutions on Kashmir issue; otherwise, it may face the fate of League of Nations as two atomic powers are standing eyeball to eyeball along borders. BA, BSc forms submission schedule

LAHORE:04 October:Punjab University Examinations Department has issued the schedule for submission of admission forms for BA/BSc Part-I and Part-II annual examination 2020. The last date for submission of admission forms for regular candidates of BA/BSc Part-II annual examination 2020 with single fee is 16-12-19 (by post) and 23-12-19 (by hand) while forms can be submitted with double fee till 30-12-19 (by post) and 6-1-20 (by hand).
