Sargodha University retains position among top 500 Asian universities

Sargodha :04 December:The University of Sargodha (UoS) has retained its previous position in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2020, making its name yet again in the list of Top 500 Asian universities. According to the QS World University Rankings Asia 2020, Sargodha University recorded the same rank achieved in 2019 ie in the 401-450 categories of Asian universities. Last week, the Times Higher Education (THE) also announced its subject-wise World University Rankings 2020, in which the University ranked 601+ for Life Sciences and 801+ Physical Sciences.

Sargodha University scholar invents sugarcane intercropping drill

Sargodha:25 October:A professor of College of Agriculture, Sargodha University (SU) has become the first Pakistani national to invent a multipurpose and multifunctional sugarcane intercropping drill. The invention will meet the diversified needs of small scale farmers by maximising land utilisation, increasing total yield and high monetary returns. Department of Agronomy Assistant Professor Dr Abdul Rehman has designed and fabricated a unique and the first drill of its kind with the help of his research team and local industry using indigenous raw material.

JHANG:12 May: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Controller Examinations Mrs Shahnaz Alvi has asked the superintendents of examination centres to follow the directions of the board while conducting the examinations. The BISE controller of examinations said that male mobile inspectors would not be allowed to remain present inside the female examination centres as it would cause inconvenience for the girl students.

University of Sargodha VC hits back at FAPUASA

LAHORE:03 June: University of Sargodha (UoS) Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad has fired back at accusations leveled against him by representatives of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA). Talking to The Express Tribune, Dr Ahmad termed allegations of him targeting faculty members as baseless. He explained that any action taken against a member of the faculty was conducted by the relevant authority, which happens to be the syndicate of the varsity.

University of Sargodha organises two-day workshop

SARGODHA:13 December: The University of Sargodha (UoS) organised a two-day workshop on ‘Advance statistical analysis pertaining to Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by using AMOS software’. The key purpose of the workshop was to cater to the analysis needs of the faculty members and research students of social sciences. District govt introduces O’ level education in Bhakkar

BHAKKAR:14 august: O’ level education has been introduced at District Public School (DPS) Bhakkar due to the efforts of the district government. With the initiative, Bhakkar District has earned an honour to rank among those 16 districts of Punjab having O’ level education system.
