LAHORE:20th July: The Punjab Cooperatives Department Friday started a three-day training workshop about the principles of financial and office management for its district-level accountants. A total of 47 accountants are taking part in this workshop which started at Cooperatives Divisional Training College, Faisalabad. Different trainers delivered lectures about various matters pertaining to the department.

Boys clinched all top three positions in SSC Annual Exam

RAWALPINDI:15 July: Boys have clinched all the top three positions in the science group in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2019. The results are due to be formally announced during a ceremony on Monday morning. However, fewer girls failed the exams than boys with an overall pass percentage of 75.8 per cent. According to official result documents from the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE), Waqas Ahmed of the Hassan Abdal Cadet College topped the overall examinations by obtaining 1,089 marks.

Over 46,000 take entrance test for engineering universities

LAHORE:July 15: University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, on Sunday organised a combined entrance test for admissions to B. Sc Engineering and B. Sc Engineering Technology. More than 46,000 candidates, seeking admissions to different engineering universities of Punjab appeared in the test. Thirteen test centres were established in different cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Islamabad, to facilitate maximum number of students.

Lahore College for Women University inks accord with TEVTA

LAHORE:13 July: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Friday signed an agreement for establishing ‘Hunergah’ at LCWU. According to a press release, Tevta Chairman Hafiz Farhat Abbas and LCWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Bushra Mirza signed the agreement under which a ‘Hunergah’ would be established at Lahore College for Women University campus where females would be trained in different trades.

UHS becomes member of Asian varsities alliance

LAHORE:12 july: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has become the founder member of South and Southeast Asian Medical Education and Service Alliance (SSAMESA) by signing the Kunming Declaration on Thursday. UHS is only medical university from Pakistan to become the member of this thirteen-nation alliance. UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Javed Akram signed the declaration in Kunming, China, at the end of a meeting of presidents and deans of regional medical universities.
