Tevta to introduce career-oriented education

LAHORE:03 September: Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Chairman Ali Salman Siddique on Monday said the department was being steered forward under a new vision which called for the quality of technical education and job placement to go hand in hand. He was addressing the fresh students of Diploma of Associate Engineering at Government College of Technology, Railway Road, here. Ali Salman said that a General Manager (Placement) was being appointed at Tevta Secretariat for ensuring the provision of jobs to the Tevta trained workforce on completion of their courses.

Seminar on dengue control and prevention held at AAUR

Rawalpindi:28th August: An awareness seminar on Dengue Control and Prevention held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Tuesday, with an aim to raise awareness among the masses against dengue and to observe all precautionary measures for the protection from this disease. Speakers recommended various preventive measures against the dengue mosquitoes and stressed on collective preventive measures against the dengue menace. They urged the university employees and students to ensure cleanliness of the campus and homes.

CM approves recruitment of 4,500 college teacher interns

LAHORE:28th August: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved recruitment of College Teacher Interns (CTIs) to public sector colleges across the province against 4,500 vacant posts. Recruitment to 400 vacant posts will be made against the quota reserved for minorities and differently able persons. A summary of higher education department has been approved by the chief minister and the CTIs showing satisfactory performance, during the current educational year, will be given the opportunity again. However, this would not mean an extension in their period of employment.

Schoolgirl saved from kidnapping

RAWALPINDI:August 26: Police arrested a suspect allegedly belonging to a gang that kidnapped young girls after they get off from school. Thirteen-year-old, Kulsoom Banaras walked outside the government school near Sir Syed Chowk after school when she was intercepted by an unidentified man. The suspect forced Kulsoom to come with him after which she started screaming for help. Hearing the call, the two traffic wardens including Bilal and Kamran, who were performing duties nearby, approached the site and arrested the suspect.
