New classrooms to be built in DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN::August 28:“As many as 1,401 new classrooms will be constructed across Dera Ghazi Khan. The provincial government has allocated Rs2 billion for this purpose,” Assistant Commissioner Asghar Majeed said on Saturday.

He was addressing a meeting. The commissioner said the classrooms would be constructed along modern lines. “High quality material would be used for the construction,” he said.

2 Pakistanis capoeiristas graduate from Brazil

Rawalpindi:August 28:Two Pakistanis Shayan Ali and Fawaz Mir, who are Capoeira practitioners, a Brazilian martial art, have graduated in this form of sport from its ABADA School based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In July this year both the aspirants of this recently introduced martial art travelled to Brazil, where they performed their skills and hence they were awarded with certificates.

56,000 take medical entrance test today

Lahore:August 28:Punjab medical/dental colleges entrance test by University of Health Sciences (UHS) will be held today.

This year, the candidates will compete for 3,405 MBBS seats in 17 public sector medical colleges and 216 BDS seats in three public dental colleges of the province.

Besides, there are around 3,500 MBBS seats available in 27 private medical colleges and 800 BDS seats in 12 private dental colleges of Punjab.

GCU additional registrar assigned charge of look after registrar

Lahore:August 27:On the recommendations of Government College University (GCU) syndicate, the Punjab Governor/Chancellor has assigned the look after charge of the post of varsity’s Registrar to the Additional Registrar.

Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab formally issued orders in this regard on August 25, according to which GCU Additional Registrar Saboor Ahmad Khan has been assigned the look after charge of the post of registrar “till appointment of a whole time incumbent.”

School principal suspended for lunching after Recess

Lahore:August 26:During a surprise visit to a workers’ welfare school in Sheikhupura on Tuesday, Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar found the school staff having lunch while the students played in the grounds past recess. He suspended the school principal.

Sarwar visited several welfare schools, a dispensary and a brick kiln in Sheikhupura. He was accompanied by Sheikhupura Labour District Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem and district administration officers.

Punjab Board of Technical Education DCom Result

Lahore:August 26: Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) has declared the result of Diploma in Commerce (DCom) Part-I and Part-II annual examination 2016.

The pass percentage in DCom Part-I was recorded at 50.95 percent while in Part-II the pass percentage was 50.98 percent. Aasia Rani bagged first position with 1,028 marks, Javed Iqbal and Ansarah Usman shared the second position with 1,027 each while the third position was clinched by Muhammad Irfan with 1,025 marks.The news.
