Lahore: The Punjab University's examination department has instructed over 2,000 candidates planning to appear for their BEd annual examination for 2010 to provide their BA/BSc degree verifications or that of their Certificate of Teaching (CT). These students did their graduation from any other university.

The BEd annual examinations are beginning on Sept 17. The PU's examination department has sent the instructions to each candidate in writing.

Controller of Examinations Dr Zahid Karim Khan said 3,776 candidates had submitted their admission forms for the BEd examination. Of these candidates, he said, 1,332 were appearing as regular candidates and 326 had provided required documents to become eligible to sit for the examination. There were some 2,118 candidates who were still required to provide the relevant documents, he said.

Dr Khan said the university was pressing for the verification of documents because there had been reports about cheating. Dawn
