Arrangements reviewed matric exams

LAHORE: A high level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Home Naveed Hassan Asif to review the arrangements for transparent and peaceful conduct of metric examination scheduled to be started on 13th March. The meeting was attended by Secretary Higher education Ahad Khan Cheema Additional Inspector General police Cap. Ahmed Mubine, SSP, CID Cap. Shahzad, DIG prison, Salak Jajal, Additional Secretary Home Usman Anwar, Additional secretary Higher Education Muhammad Akram Ch. Additional Secretary Schools Ghulam Abbas Sargana and Chairman Lahore board Dr. Akram Kashmari. The meeting decided that effective mesures would be taken to ensure the conduct of examination in transparent manners and police and administration has been directed to take stern action against the booti-mafia and Gunda elements. The meeting was told that Chief Secretary Punjab has already instructed the DCOs and DPOs to pay surprise visit to examination centers and take the action on the spot against the people involved in cheating and other mal-practices. All the chairmen of boards have been conferred powers of first class Magistrate. All the DCOs of the Distract will enforce Section 144 to maintain law and order during the examinations and police officials will also be deputed at the examination centers. The secretary higher education told the meeting that a monitoring cell headed by Muhammad Akram Ch. has been set up in the Higher Education Department. This cell will send the reports of all the boards to Chief Minister Punjab, Chief Secretary Punjab and Education Minister.F.P. Report
