LAHORE:All PRIVATE and public sector schools in Lahore district will remain shut on the occasion of by-polls on Wednesday (today).

According to a circular issued from the office of the Executive District Officer (EDO) Education: “In pursuance of the directions of the City District Government Lahore administration, all schools (government and private) will remain closed on 10.03.2010 due to by-election in NA-123 Lahore.”

However, except the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), all the other universities would remain open. According to a UET press statement, the university’s Lahore and Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) campuses will remain closed on Wednesday for the by-election.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Health Department has announced that there will be no local holiday March 10 (Today) in connection with the by-elections in Lahore in the teaching hospitals.

Health Department spokesman further said that necessary instructions from the office of the Secretary Health Punjab Fawad Hassan Fawad had been conveyed to the Medical Superintendents of the teaching hospitals.The news
