Gujranwala Medical college

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif announced various development projects during his visit to Gujranwala today but the projects of setting up of medical college and 50-bedded hospital in Gujranwala are of great importance. The medical college to be constructed at 25 acre of land will cost Rs.3 billion and this project will be completed in two years. After completion of this project, facility of medical education will be available to the students of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Jhelum and other number of adjacent districts. The Chief Minister ordered that 25 acre land for this medical college should be transferred without any delay. The Chief Minister also announced construction of most modern hospital consisting of 50-beds in the western side of the city. This hospital will be constructed on 20 acre of land and will cost about Rs.30 crore. The Chief Minister directed that the work on the project of hospital should be started immediately. Public representatives present in the meeting while appreciating these steps of the Chief Minister termed setting up of hospital and medical college a milestone in the development history of Gujranwala.F.P.
