LAHORE:September 02: The Punjab government needs to appoint regular vice chancellors at King Edward Medical University and University of Health Sciences (UHS), said the Young Doctors Association’s office-bearers while talking to media persons on Saturday.
The office-bearers said that a full bench of Supreme Court (SC), comprising Justice Jawad S Khawaja, Justice Saqib Nisar and Justice Tasadduq Jillani, on March 14 had directed the Punjab government to appoint regular vice chancellors at UHS and KEMU in a duration of three months, however, no regular appointments had been made despite a passage of five months.
The standard of medical education was deteriorating at both medical universities due to the absence of regular vice chancellors, they urged.Daily Times.
