LAHORE:23 January: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Jassar Farms Private Limited (JFPL) have entered into a partnership to begin joint information collection and dissemination initiatives to strengthen the country’s dairy potential.
UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and JFPL Chief Executive Dr Shahzad S Iqbal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday at Syndicate room. JFPL Chairman Shaukat Iqbal, UVAS Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Dean Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad, dean faculty of biosciences, Faculty of Livestock and Business Management Dean Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman and UVAS Registrar Dr Muhammad Afzal also attended the ceremony.
The primary purpose of the MoU is to engage both parties in collaborative and cooperative efforts to promote modern dairy farming in Pakistan. They will also work together to maximise knowledge base in the genetics improvement areas, conducting research and producing training material and providing extension services to dairy farmers. They also agreed to launch an awareness campaign about the latest techniques and technologies in developed nations to enhance productivity, with particular focus on usage of high quality semen, embryo transfer technology, animal nutrition and superior farm management practices.Daily Times.
