Three officials appointed in Lahore College for Women

Lahore: The Punjab governor/chancellor has appointed people on three vacant posts in Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on contract for a period of three years with immediate effect.

According to a press statement issued here Wednesday, Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa made the appointments under section 14(1), 15 and 16 read with section 9 (7) the Lahore College for Women University, Ordinance 2002.

The appointees are: Ms Tanzeela Qamar, Registrar, Dr Tahira Aziz Mughal, Controller Examination and Abdul Ghaffar Ali, Treasurer. The Higher Education Department secretary notified the above said posts.

These top three posts had been vacant since last one year and different people had been working against these posts as additional in charge. A search committee interviewed candidates for these posts in September last year.

LCWU PhD: Sadia Arshad, lecturer at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), has been recommended for the award of a PhD from the university in the subject of Fine Arts. According to a press statement on Wednesday, the thesis Sadia Arshad was "Themes and sources of current generation of Pakistani artists (1997-2007)."
