Lahore:September 19:PUNJAB University (PU) faculty members led by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran held a rally to condemn blasphemous film on Tuesday.
A resolution was also passed unanimously by the PU faculty members, seeking ban on broadcast of the blasphemous film and punishment for its makers.
The rally organised by PU Academic Staff Association was held from Undergraduate Study Centre to New Campus bridge in which the demonstrators carrying banners and placards chanted anti-America slogans. The rally participants termed the anti-Islam movie a conspiracy to disrupt the world peace, saying the sacrilegious movie had badly hurt feelings of over 1.5 billion Muslims throughout the world. The teachers’ rally was peaceful as they avoided disturbing the flow of traffic and reached the campus bridge. PUASA Acting President Dr Ehsan Sharif, Secretary Javed Sami, Prof Dr Shaukat Ali, Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar and Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar were prominent among the participants.The news.
