Lahore: 23 Jan: Punjab University (PU) has announced that Punjab University Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) Principal Prof Dr Khawaja Amjad Saeed has participated in international conference “Business & Economics Society International” held in New Zeeland and presented his paper on “World of Exports: A Review of Global & Regional Developments”. Delegates from 22 countries participated in the conference.
In his report, Dr Amjad Saeed said the export led growth strategy be used to accelerate socio-economic development in general in the world and in particular in developing countries for quantum jump in production cycle, job creation, alleviation of poverty and aiming at higher education, standard of living of masses across the board to ensure socio-economic stability in the world. The paper reviewed export developments on global basis covering 131 countries based on information available in several sources including World Development Report 2012. The review also includes 12 export leaders of the world with China, Germany and USA at first, second and third place respectively. The participants of conference highly appreciated the suggestions presented by Dr Amjad Saeed.
The delegates presented suggestions regarding education, health, risk management, poverty alleviation, information technology, economic, natural environment, innovation & human trafficking and other related fields. The conference ended with the determination that younger generation will be prepared to face the challenges of 21st century to ensure their participation in the socio-economic projects to achieve productive results.
