LAHORE:September 16:UNIVERSITY of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Akram Khan has said the Punjab government has approved the PC-I of Centre for Energy Research and Development at the varsity’s Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) campus.
The UET VC said the setting up of the Centre for Energy Research and Development was to evolve efficient, innovative and cost effective solutions to the energy problems of Punjab province, adding the Centre would carry out research on various types of renewable energies. He added the Centre would also undertake research on various policy issues, concerning energy sectors. He further said in order to resolve energy crises, sources like Photovoltaic Energy, Solar Thermal Energy, Wind Energy, Bio Energy, Coal Energy and Hydel Energy would be used. The construction work of the Energy Development Centre will be completed within two years at UET’s Kala Shah Kaku Campus.The news.
