Naeem remand extended

LAHORE:January 13:SPECIAL Judicial Magistrate Zafer Iqbal on Thursday extended four-day physical remand of Dr Majid Naeem, ex-Principal of Punjab University College of Information Technology, to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) for his alleged involved in embezzlement of Rs 250,000.

The court has directed the investigation officer (IO) of the case to probe into the matter further and produce recorded statement of the accused on the next hearing on January 16. The accused was arrested on January 8 and was produced before the court on charges of embezzling Rs 250,000. In earlier proceedings, the judge had granted three-day physical remand of the accused to the aforementioned department and directed the department to produce him again by January 12.
