LAHORE:11September: A group exhibition by the students of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) titled ‘Living Dream’ started at Alhamra Art Gallery on Monday.
Artwork and paintings of nine students were put on display, based on themes from various walks of life. The participants, Alia Arshad, Faiza Rafiq, Sobya Ashraf, Uzma Raja, Zahid Alam, Zakia Liaqat, Sania Nawaz, Maryam Ali, Bushra Lodhi, have painted about different issues, including the ‘death’ of local handicrafts, games of childhood, women labour, underprivileged children, Kashmir conflict and many others.
MUST Art and Design Department head Tayyba Gull said the exhibition was a continuation of the department’s adhering obligation to society by providing knowledge and education of art to students.
She added that the art pieces displayed unveiled the truth of the author’s inner necessity and invited viewers to participate with their experiences. “These in other words are the individual autobiography, personal signature and natural reflection of attitudes,” she added.Daily Times.
