LUMS inaugurates new building of business school

Lahore: The Lahore University of Management (LUMS) inaugurated its new building of the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by the pro-chancellor, rector, faculty members, donors, members of the management committee, advisory board, SDSB dean and the distinguished alumni.

According to information provided by LUMS, the building is a generous gift by the Dawood family and will house the SDSB faculty, staff, MBA and Executive MBA classes.

Various speakers shared their fond memories of the school's infancy stages and gave details of future plans during the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, the rector, Abdul Razak Dawood, said that the day was a proud one for the school and marked the start of a new era in the pursuit of excellence and growth. He said that the school was fully committed and dedicated to contribute in knowledge generation and dissemination in the field of management and this purpose-built facility will provide the requisite infrastructure to fulfil this mission.

Speaking on the occasion, SDSB Dean Dr Arif Nazir Buttthanked said the aim of the school was to produce leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs who will reshape the economic opportunities in the country and contribute to society.

Also present on the occasion, Bob Collins, reminisced about the days before the first classes were scheduled to be offered and how everything came about just right with the support of the visionaries who were all giving back to LUMS even today. The building will be formally launched on the LUMS Annual Convocation in June. Daily times.
