Lecture on dengue

Lahore: January 23:Delivering a lecture on “Dengue is a fatal but curable disease,” Namal Rath Naik highlighted steps taken by the Sri Lankan government and people for eradication of dengue.

The lecture was arranged by Lahore museum. A press release here on Sunday said Director Lahore Museum Humaira Alam and all other officers attended the lecture. Namal is from Sri Lanka and is attending a senior management course at NIPA here. He said the Punjab government has protected many lives by announcing a war on this fatal disease. He said that the untiring efforts made by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for curbing this disease were commendable. He said we could protect ourselves and the lives of other human beings in our surroundings by a little care. Namal said besides keeping our environment clean to curb dengue, attention should also be paid to those places where water could be accumulated. He said overflowing of water from tanks on the roofs of houses, water in the flowerpot, on roads and streets after house washing and heaps of garbage were the main source of breading of dengue mosquitoes; therefore, we should pay special attention to it. He said we could only get rid of such a fatal disease if the people fully supplemented the efforts of the government. He said that no government could win the war against such a disease by itself; therefore, every citizen has to play their role in this aspect.
