KEMU VC welcomed Malaya varsity team

Lahore:12 September:A five-member delegation from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, headed by its vice-chancellor, Ghauth Jasmon, visited the King Edward Medical University on Tuesday.

KEMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan, deans and chairpersons of all departments welcomed the delegation.

After presentation of different programmes being run by both the universities, a memorandum of understanding was signed for mutual cooperation in research and student exchange in postgraduate training programmes.

Both sides agreed to implement within the framework of the rules and regulations applicable in each of the institutions and subject to availability of funds and resources some programmes and activities, which may include student and/or academic and administrative staff exchanges, joint research activities, exchange of publications, reports and other academic materials and information, sharing of other activities and programmes in areas of mutual interest, where such sharing shall result in benefit to both parties.

The parties agreed to designate, on behalf of each institution, a coordinator whose responsibility will be to supervise the execution of this MoU and to draw up a programme or activities to be implemented under this MoU, setting out specific provisions concerning the exchange programmes, budget requirements and details of funding.Dawn.
