LAHORE:January 06:THE Research Committee of King Edward Medical University has granted technical approval to various research projects of Basic Medical Sciences and Medical and Allied Health Sciences. KEMU’s Research Committee issued a notification on Thursday after formal approval from Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan.

The Research Committee is headed by Prof Dr Shaharyar, Professor of Radiotherapy, and members include Prof. S. M. Awais, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Prof. Ahmed Wasim Yusuf, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Prof. Nawaz Chughtai, Professor of Urology, Prof. Irshad Hussain, Professor of Medicine, and Prof. Fridoon Jawad Ahmed, Professor of Molecular Biology, KEMU, Lahore.

The research projects are as followed: 1-”Use of Resorbable Plates for Fixation of Mandibular Fractures in Paediatric Population” Principal Investigator Prof. Riaz Ahmad Warraich.

2- “Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS), Second Phase (2011-2012)”, Principal Investigator Prof. Khalid Javed Abid.

3-”Outcome of Reconstruction of Orbital Floor Defects Using Titanium Mesh” Principal Investigator Prof. Riaz Ahmad Warraich.

4- “Clinical outcome of dental implants placed in free fibula flaps for orofacial reconstruction” Principal Investigator, Dr. Nabeela Riaz.

5- “Replacement of Temporomandibular Joint With Prefabricated Condylar Prosthesis in patients with Ankylosis” Principal Investigator, Prof. Riaz Ahmad Warraich.
