IUB 6th Master Training workshop inaugurated

Bahawalpur: 27 Jan: Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) has announced that The Executive Director Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi has said that the maximum efforts are being made to harmonize prevalent examination system with the international standard. He expressed these views alongwith Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Vice Chancellor while inaugurating the 6th Training Workshop organized jointly by Higher Education Commission and National Testing Services as Chief Guest. This four day workshop is being held at Abbasia Campus IUB, participated by the faculty member of ten universities and sub- campuses of Southern Punjab. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi highlighted the significance of close collaboration among the universities and said that it will not only help them to resolve mutual issues but will also enhance the mutual understanding to reap the benefits from the international examination systems. He further said that the faculty members who are being imparted training will be able to conduct such workshops in their respective institutions. HEC has established a Consortium of eight universities to make the prospects brighter for the development of the sectors of social sciences and humanities and all stake holders will create linkages with professional organizations for the development of faculty and promotion of academic and research activities. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Vice Chancellor IUB in his address said that a training centre equipped with the latest facilities will be established in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the national and international faculty development, which will not only benefit the faculty university but other universities and public/private sector organizations will also be able to get the advantage. Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat Prof. Dr. Nizamuddin, Vice Chancellor Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan Prof. Dr. Syed Khawaja Alqama also expressed their views on the occasion. The representative of HEC and Focal Person of workshop Murtaza Noor highlighted the aims and objectives of the activity and said that for the improvement of the performance of teaching regarding the examination system, similar workshops are being organized throughout the county.
