LAHORE:January 26:A THREE-MEMBER Indonesian delegation led by Ambassador Ishak Latuconsina visited Punjab University and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran at his office on Wednesday.
Other members included Head of Department of International Relations, University of Indonesia, Dr Hariyadi Wirawan and Head of Chancery Kusdiana, while from PU Director External Linkages Maria Maldonado and Chairperson Political Science Department Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid were present.
VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran stressed the need for mutual cooperation to facilitate scholars in academic and research activities. He appreciated efforts of Director External Linkages Maria Maldonado to strengthen ties with other universities in this regard. Indonesian Ambassador Ishak Latuconsina said he felt immense pleasure to visit PU. He said apart from political science, cooperation in other areas of mutual interest could also be promoted. He also stressed the need for promoting linkages at university level among both countries.
Pak-Indonesia cooperation stressed: Punjab University Department of Political Science, in collaboration with Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS), organised a seminar on “ASEAN-Pakistan Relations” in the Seminar Hall of the Centre here Wednesday.
According to a press statement, Head of Department of International Relations University of Indonesia Dr Hariyadi Wirawan was the keynote speaker while Indonesian Ambassador Ishak Latuconsina, Chairperson Political Science Department, CSAS Director, Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, faculty members and scholars were also present on the occasion.
