LAHORE:January 22: Minister for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday visited the residence of late Arfa Karim, world’s youngest certified IT professional and expressed condolences with her family over her death. Talking to the media, the federal minister said that daughters of nation like Arfa were a great pride for the nation and the government would never ignore students like her. She said that she had visited Arfa’s parents on the directions of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, adding that the government believed in the women empowerment and would take all steps to strengthen them. She also said the state television would also telecast a documentary film on Arfa Karim and a book would also be published on her. She also announced a donation of Rs 1 million to the Arfa Karim Foundation founded by her parents with a motive to support deserving students.The news.
