Educated youth opt for labourer’s jobs abroad

Rawalpindi:January 06:Educated young people are trying their level best to get visas of foreign lands to make their future and earn money to support their families.

Due to lack of jobs in Pakistan, they are ready to move to other countries even as labourers, electricians and plumbers. Many of the applicants, while talking to ‘The News,’ said that in Pakistan they don’t have opportunities for jobs or to start their own business. “We don’t have any option but to leave the country to earn a handsome amount to support our families,” they said.

“No matter if we are going on labour visas at least we would be able to support our families,” said Abdul Rehman, an applicant standing in the queue. He said that he did his master’s and tried his level best to get a suitable job, but failed to get a job. “Now I have decided to apply for a labour visa for Korea,” he said. He said that the minimum qualification for this visa is HSSC but like me many other young men who have master’s degrees are applying for this, as they also failed to get jobs.

Malik Imran, another applicant, said that he has a master’s in English and doing a job in a private organisation but getting only Rs7,000 per month, which is insufficient to support his family. He said that he and his father earn very little amount that is not enough to meet even the basic needs of the family. “I am applying for a labour visa for Korea,” he added.

Other young men said that they are trying to go out from the country, as they don’t have opportunities in Pakistan. “The government should take notice of this situation and make plans to create jobs and business opportunities for the young generation otherwise youth would leave the country for their survival,” they said.The news.
