CM for steps for special children’s rehabilitation

LAHORE:March 04:Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Saturday that rehabilitation of special children and making them useful citizen through education and training was the joint responsibility of the government and the society.

The persons and institutions, he added, serving the ailing humanity were our precious assets and their welfare efforts were commendable.

He was addressing a golden jubilee function held at Al-Hamra, under the aegis of Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Special Children (Amin Maktab), here. Special Secretary Education Abdullah Sumbal, Chief Executive “Akhuwwat” Dr. Amjad Saqib, President Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Special Children Justice(R) Aamir Raza Khan, special children, their parents and a large number of people also attended the function.

Stressing the need to reduce social gap between special persons and the society, the chief minister said that necessary framework in collaboration with UNESCO was being prepared under which special children would also get education in other schools. He announced that a representative meeting of all concerned would be convened next week for devising a comprehensive policy for the rehabilitation of special children. The meeting, he said, would prepare a comprehensive roadmap for the rehabilitation of special children which would help in including the special children into social mainstream.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government had given special importance to the social welfare projects during the last three and a half years. He said that solid steps had been taken for the education and training of special children in the province.

President Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Special Children Justice(R) Aamir Raza Khan and mothers of special children also spoke on this occasion. The participants highly appreciated the tableau presented special children.

Land record: Shahbaz Sharif said Saturday that the record of lands would be maintained in the most transparent and organized manner through computerization of revenue record.

Terming it paradigm shift in revenue matters, he said the step would greatly benefit the people who would get rid of corrupt mafia due to computerization of land record. It would also help people get relief from years of litigation.

He was presiding over a meeting regarding land record management and information system at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here. The meeting reviewed the progress of land record computerization project.

The project director of land record management and information system gave briefing on the project.

The chief minister said that 89 assistant directors (Land Record) were being recruited through the Punjab Public Service Commission for land record management and information system. He said that Management and Professional Development Department would provide training of various matters to these officers. The officers would be imparted training of various professional matters and preserving the revenue record through modern methods during four months’ training so that they could serve the people in a better way.

He issued orders to constitute a committee comprising highly experienced officers for timely completion and making the process of computerization of revenue record transparent. He directed commissioners and DCOs to extend full cooperation for the completion of land record computerization project.

Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, the Planning and Development chairman, Senior Member Board of Revenue and DCOs of various districts, including Lahore, attended the meeting.The news.
