Lahore: 13 Jan: Beaconhouse National University (BNU) Lahore has announced tat The naming ceremony of Sakina Mehboob Tata Textile Studio was held at Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD), Tarogil Campus on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
Mr. Anwar Ahmed Tata, Chairman Tata Industries, members of Tata Family along with Chairperson, BNU Board of Governors, Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri, Vice Chancellor, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Dean SVAD, Prof. Salima Hashmi, Dean School of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Gulzar Haider, Dean School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hafiz A. Pasha and Head, Department of Textile, Fiber and Fashion Design, Ms. Kiran Farooq Khan and members of BNU faculty and staff were present at the ceremony. Mr. Mehboob Iqbal Tata, Chairman, Dada Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. unveiled the plaque bearing the name, Sakina Mehboob Tata Textile Studio.
Mr. Shahid Anwar Tata, Managing Director, Tata Textile Mills Ltd, Mr. Zulfiqar Monnoo, Chief Executive, Pak West Industries (Pvt) Ltd., Prof. Dr. Khawaja Amjad Saeed, Principal, Hailey College of Banking and Finance, were also in attendance at the occasion.
Mr. Mehboob Iqbal Tata and Mr. Anwar Ahmed Tata also addressed BNU students and narrated the stories of their lives’ struggles. Mr. Mehboob Iqbal Tata also presented a cheque to the Vice Chancellor as a contribution of Tata Family to the noble cause of BNU.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor thanked the honored guests for their visit and valuable contribution and presented a memento to the visiting guests.
