Rawalpindi: 10 Feb: Directorate of Students Affairs of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) organized Naat competition in University Auditorium on February 2, 2012. Students from different departments of the University participated with great reverence and enthusiasm to pay tribute to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). They presented beautiful and soul-stirring Naats. The University auditorium was very beautifully decorated by the students of the University, which was appreciated by the participant and guests of the Naat competition.
Mr. Fazal-ur Rehman, Chairman Zakat and Usher Committee, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, he said Islam is based on Holy Quran and teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He said loving Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) demand to follow His teachings and nothing should be given importance more than this. He said reciting Naat is incomplete unless until we act upon the teachings of Holy Quran and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He prayed that Allah may bless the students with intellectual thinking along with knowledge. At the end chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of competition.
University acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Munir, in his address appreciated the Directorate of students Affairs, judges and the participants for making the competition memorable and encourage them to continue the exercise. He further said that such events are also helpful the students to exhibit their talent and express their feelings.
In the competition more than 15 students participated among them Naveed Gul got first position, while Syed Yasir Zaidi and Khawja Nouman got second and third positions, respectively.
On the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Irfan Ul Haq and Dr. Ghulam Hussain Babar of PMAS-AAUR were the judges of the competition.
