LAHORE:April 14: Vice-chancellors (VCs) of public universities of Punjab on Friday constituted the first vice-chancellors’ committee of Punjab. The committee besides deliberating upon individual matters of universities, would discuss issues related to financial, academic & administrative, quality enhancement, standardisation & internationalisation of higher education reforms and present the recommendations through Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) to the Punjab government. The meeting was chaired by Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani. PHEC Chairperson Prof Dr Muhammad Nizam-ud-Din and VCs from all public universities of Punjab attended the meeting. The meeting nominated GCU Lahore Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah as head of the committee. The seven member committee comprises of vice-chancellors of GCU Lahore, University of Education Lahore, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Fatima Jinnah Women Medical University, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Govt Sadiq College for Women University Bahawalpur and Govt College University Faisalabad while Punjab Higher Education Commission would provide the secretarial support to the committee.
