LAHORE:01 May: The 25th convocation of Queen Mary College was held here Tuesday in which 463 graduates of BA, BSc, BS (Hons) and MA were awarded degrees. Punjab Minister for Higher Education and Tourism Raja Yasir Humayun was the chief guest while the college principal Dr Irfana Maryam, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Addressing the students, Raja Yasir Humayun said for the economic development of the country high quality education, teachers and the students combined played a great role. He also extended his hopes of them being leaders for the coming generations and laying strong foundations for a prosperous Pakistan. Earlier, Dr Irfana Maryam presented the annual report of the college. She said in today’s world the role of women in the economic, political and moral development of the society could not be undermined and education laid the foundation for development. Moreover, medals were awarded to distinction holders among which 57 students received gold medals and 51 students received silver medals while rolls of honor were awarded to 343 students.The news.
