Punjab govet issued notification grant of additional charge to ministers of caretaker

Lahore:20 June:Punjab government has also issued notification regarding the grant of additional charge to the ministers of caretaker cabinet. According to the notification, the Caretaker Provincial Minister for Industry, Trade & Investment and Mines & Mineral Development Anjum Nisar has been given additional charge of Zakat and Ushr Department.

Punjab minister relieved of education ministry

LAHORE:20 June: The Punjab Education Ministry on Tuesday was taken from interim minister Chaudary Faisal Mushtaq after Parent Action Committee strongly reacted to his appointment on social media. All four departments falling under education ministry Higher Education, Schools Education, Special Education, Literacy & Non-Formal and Basic Education departments will remain with the Punjab caretaker chief minister according to the notification issued by the Services & General Administration Department (Cabinet Wing).The news.

Punjab govt Portfolio of Higher Education,Special Education, Literacy

LAHORE:20 June: Punjab government on Tuesday withdrew portfolio of Higher Education, Schools Education, Special Education, Literacy & Non-Formal and Basic Education from caretaker provincial minister Ch Faisal Mushtaq. It is pertinent to mention here that there was strong resentment among general public over the award of portfolio of education to caretaker minister Ch Faisal Mushtaq as he owns a chain of private schools.

QAED two days PEELI training of newly recruited Educators

Lahore:16 June:According to the notification, “Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), Punjab has planned two days PEELI training of newly recruited Educators-2017, who have received three-day PEELI training during the Induction Training Programme-2017. The said training will be conducted in all districts of Punjab with effect from 22-06-2018 to 23-06-2018 in batches.”

Over 30,000 teachers to get English training Under PEELI

LAHORE:16 June: More than 30,000 schoolteachers will receive English language training under the Punjab Education and English Language Initiative (PEELI). The two-day training will be conducted by the Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), where 30,918 educators will be trained by 773 trainers in the same number of classes. The training is to be held between June 22 and 23.The news.

Punjab HED extends date to apply for position of ITU VC

LAHORE:15 June: After getting a negligible response from academics, the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has extended the last date to apply for the post of Information Technology University (ITU) vice-chancellor by more than half a month. A new advertisement has been floated by the HED, extending the date to June 20. In the earlier advertisement, the last date was set as June 3.

Punjab University awarded PhDs to five scholars

LAHORE:15 June: Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhDs to five scholars. Muhammad Abdullah, son of Muhammad Jamil, has been awarded a PhD in Islamic studies, Kalima Akhtari, daughter of Muhammad Ibrahim, in Persian, Anam Yousaf, d/o Muhammad Yousaf, in environmental sciences, Sumreen Hayat, d/o Ahmed Hayat, in microbiology & molecular genetics and Manzoor Hussain, s/o Muhammad Sharif, in the subject of microbiology & molecular genetics.The news.

Information Technology University Tech lab, research unit established

LAHORE:14 June: A tech lab and a research unit will be jointly established by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Information Technology University (ITU) under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on Wednesday. Aimed at gauging Pakistan’s progress in attaining the sustainable development goals (SDGs), the MoU was signed by UNDP Country Director Ignacio Artaza and ITU acting vice chancellor Dr Umar Saif.

PU College of Earth Sciences won an environmental research project

Lahore:14 June: Punjab University College of Earth and Environmental Sciences has won an environmental research project from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan worth Rs 3.7m. CEES Principal Prof Dr Sajid Rashid had proposed the research project titled “reduction in air emissions through modifications and improve efficiency in firing of brick kiln units”.

Govt College University VC gets additional charge of Narowal varsity

LAHORE:14 June: Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah, Vice Chancellor of Govt College University Lahore, has been given additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor, University of Narowal. A notification in this regard was issued on Wednesday by the Punjab Higher Education Department after the approval of Chancellor/Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana. According to the notification, Prof Hassan Shah will hold the additional charge of the post till the appointment of regular Vice Chancellor at University of Narowal. Prof Shah is an eminent physicist and recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

220 teachers and school leaders met at Pakistan Schools Conference

LAHORE:12 June: More than 220 teachers and school leaders from over 140 Cambridge schools met at the Pakistan Schools Conference held at Avari Lahore on Wednesday. PU VC principles of governance were merit, transparency and accountability

LAHORE:10 June:Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmed has said the administration would ensure rule of law in all affairs. He vowed to ensure that the principles of governance were merit, transparency and accountability. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the deans of all faculties at the committee room of his office on Saturday.
