Tehran University and Government College University sign MoU

LAHORE:February 24: Government College University (GCU) Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Tehran, Iran for academic and research cooperation in Urdu literature. Government College University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah and University of Tehran Department of Urdu literature Chairperson Dr Muhammad Kiou Marsi signed the accord. GCU Dean Faculty of Languages Prof Dr Iqbal Shahid, Urdu Department Chairperson Dr Khalid Sanjrani and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Punjab University Urdu and English serious debate competition

Lahore:February 24:Punjab University students participated in various competitions organised at different institutions and won prominent positions. PEEP signed an agreement with Barani Agricultural Research Chakwal

Punjab University approves 36 PhD synopses

LAHORE:February 23: Punjab University Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) in its meeting held on Thursday approved 36 PhD synopses and 11 evaluation reports. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakir. Government College University celebrates Chinese New Year

LAHORE:February 21: Government College University (GCU) here on Tuesday organised a ceremony to celebrate the Chinese New Year. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah was the chief guest at the ceremony organised by the university’s Centre of Excellence, China Studies (CECS). The day-long festivity was marked by Chinese music and pictorial cultural exhibition whereas a large number of Chinese teachers and businessmen of the city also addressed the ceremony and briefed the participants about the Chinese culture, customs, lifestyle and traditions.

Pirated books seized

LAHORE:17 February: Corporate Crime Circle (CCC) of FIA Lahore Friday raided a printing press near Karbala Gamay Shah and arrested the owner of the press on the charges of printing pirated books. According to FIA, they recovered a huge quantity of pirated books along with security labels of a famous group of publishers. They said the owner of the press, Miraj Khalid, had been arrested from the spot and a case under the Copyright Ordinance was registered against him.The news.

Punjab University students excel

Lahore:February 17: Punjab University (PU) students participated in various competitions organised by different institutions and got prominent positions. According to a press release, in Inter-Punjab debate competition organised by a private group of colleges, Ismail Sherwani and Yasir Waseem of PU got first positions and team trophy as well in English (serious) and Urdu (humorous) debate respectively while Shabahat Qamar got first position in Urdu (serious) debate.
