University of Veterinary sciences holds book fair

LAHORE:12 February: The central library of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS) arranged a two-day annual book fair 2019 in the city campus here on Monday. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated the book fair which will continue till Tuesday today while Librarian Muhammad Aslam, Prof Dr Asim Aslam, Ms Abeeda Zia and a large number of students, faculty members and book sellers were present.

Lahore Book Fair attracts world publishers, think tanks

LAHORE:05 February: The amity between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has started attracting academics with participation of think tanks and publishers from Saudi Arabia and Middle East in 33rd Lahore International Book Fair 2019. The 33rd Lahore International Book Fair, which continues at grand Hall-I of Expo Centre here from 1st to 5th February 2019, brought together local and international academic/research institutes/think-tanks and publishers under one roof attracting book lovers of all ages.

International Peace and Punjabi Conference ended

LAHORE:04 February: The International Peace and Punjabi Conference has ended by issuing a declaration known as Lahore declaration. World Punjabi Congress Chairman Fakhar Zaman said that it was a history making conference and this will lead to peaceful relations between the two countries. He appreciated the Kartarpur Corridor opening decision by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He declared that a bigger conference will be held in Lahore again next year in February.

Three-day literary extravaganza comes to an end

Proposals on educational reforms sought

LAHORE:February 1: Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas has asked the departments concerned to submit their viable proposals for implementing short-term, mid-term and long-term plans under “the new deal for Punjab.” The attached departments are directed to submit their proposals within next seven days for introducing educational reforms. This was stated by him during a meeting at his office here on Thursday. Secretary Schools Zafar Iqbal, Special Secretary (Operations) Jahanzaib Khan, Chairman & MD PCTB and others attended the meeting.

Punjab University revises curriculum

LAHORE:30 January: Punjab University has revised curriculum for BA (Part I and II) for the subject of education with effect from the academic session 2019 and onward. Punjab University conference Gravitation and Cosmology

LAHORE:28 January: The Group of Gravitation and Cosmology, Punjab University Department of Mathematics, will organise five-day first international conference Gravitation and Cosmology from January 27 to Jan 31, 2019. The inaugural ceremony will be held on Monday (today). PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar will be the chief guest of the occasion. PU Library Book Club first programme of the year

LAHORE:21 January: After successfully completing one year of organising programmes for the promotion of book reading culture in academia, the PU Library Book Club organised the first programme of the year 2019. PU Department of English Language and Literature Chairperson Prof Dr Amra Raza introduced an English poetry book written by Shadab Zeest Hashmi “Ghazal Cosmopolitan: Ghazals and Essays on the Culture and Craft of the Ghazal”. She melodiously recited some verses from the book and the audience enjoyed her style of narration.
