UOE training workshop under Faculty Professional Development Programme

Lahore:19 september:University of Education (UOE) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony. While addressing the participants, the VC said teaching was not just delivery of lecture rather it was a full fledge learning process, which included delivering lecture, assessment and evaluation of students, use of latest technologies in teaching learning process. He urged the participants to be very honest while making assessment and evaluation of students because their assessment shapes the academic destiny of the students.

University of Okara’s approved formation of 10 new academic departs

Lahore:September 19: University of Okara’s syndicate has approved the formation of 10 new academic departments under the existing four faculties along with the recruitment on 123 teaching and 107 non-faculty positions. The decision was taken in the fourth meeting of the syndicate, chaired by Punjab Higher Education Minister Yasir Hamayun Sarfraz. The meeting was held at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore.

Punjab University prize distribution ceremony for position holders of BA/BSc

LAHORE:11September: Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed has said women’s education was a must because if we want to produce a great nation, we must produce educated mothers. He was addressing the prize distribution ceremony for position holders of BA/BSc Part-II annual examination 2018 at Al-Raazi Hall. Acting Controller of Examinations Abdul Rauf, Additional Controller Raja Shahid Javed, deans of various faculties, senior faculty members, students and their parents were present on the occasion.

IT University Lahore Orientation Session

Lahore:06 sep 2018: Orientation for Fall 2018 entrants to BS, MS and PhD programmes of Information Technology University (ITU) was held on Wednesday. ITU founding Vice-Chancellor Dr Umar Saif informed the incoming batch that the university never compromised on merit and this year the acceptance rate at ITU was less than two per cent. Almost 25,000 applications were received, and 10,000 applicants made it to the test, and admissionwas offered only to 560 students.

Lahore:06 September:A state-of-the-art fitness centre has been established in the main campus of the University of Education. The university Vice-Chancellor Dr Rauf-e-Azam inaugurated the centre. Addressing on the occasion, he said we are well aware of the mental and physical health of our students and teachers because, in order to excel in our studies, we have to be mentally and physically fit. He expressed hope that the fitness centre would be proved very useful for the teachers, staff and students of the university.

Norina Sadiq, daughter of Muhammad Sadiq, has been awarded a PhD in South Asian studies, Nuzhat Firdous, D/o Mian Abdul Rashid, in sociology, Tahira Batool, D/o Muhammad Tariq Saleem, in zoology, Muhammad Mudassir Iqbal, son of Muhammad Iqbal Qurehsi, in biochemistry, Sayyed Ghyour Abbas, S/o Sayyed Mulazam Hussain, in zoology and Sami Ullah, S/o Hameedullah, in Arabic.The news.

PU ASA Council demanded reversal of recent syndicates’ decision

LAHORE:05 September: PU Academic Staff Association (ASA) Executive Council has demanded immediate reversal of recent syndicates’ decision to stop backdating benefit in appointments of faculty positions. The benefit had been granted to the teachers since 1991 as per the syndicates’ decision made in 1991 after a long-lasting struggle of the teachers. That struggle was acknowledged by the then Punjab governor.

UHS Medical colleges entrance test rescheduled for 23rd

LAHORE:01September: A decision has been taken to reschedule medical colleges entrance test from September 16 to 23 due to engagement of police and administration in Ashura-e-Muharram. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Secretary Akbar Durrani at Civil Secretariat on Friday held to review arrangements for entrance test for admissions to medical and dentals colleges of Punjab to be conducted by University of Health Sciences, Lahore.

LCWU fixed quota of two per cent for non-Muslims students

LAHORE:01 September: Lahore College for Women University has fixed admission quota of two per cent for non-Muslims students. Syndicate will validate this decision of the academic council. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Farkhanda Manzoor on Friday chaired the meeting of the academic council and made some significant decisions. She said the fixed quota would help the minorities to get better education facilities and achieve their goals.

ITU announced third merit list for BS and MS admissions 2018

LAHORE:29 August: Information Technology University (ITU) has announced third merit list for BS and MS admissions 2018. A spokesperson for ITU said the list was available at the university’s website. He those who were included in the merit list could deposit their dues latest by today (29 August) till 5 p.m. The classes will be commenced from 03 September. Training: Punjab Healthcare Commission on Tuesday completed training of 19 dentists and 37 homoeopathic doctors on their respective Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS).
