HED re-advertised vacant posts of BISEs chairmen at seven boards

LAHORE:25 May: The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has been struggling to fill vacant positions of heads at several of the boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISEs) across the province and as the term of the government comes to an end it seems unlikely that appointments could be made. HED re-advertised the vacant posts of BISEs chairmen at seven boards that included Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal and Sargodha and had set May 8 the last date for receiving the applications.

Rs191m awarded to high-achievers and position holder students of the secondary school certificate and intermediate exam

LAHORE:19 April: An amount of Rs191 million was distributed among the position holder students of the secondary school certificate and intermediate examinations 2017 along with their teachers in a ceremony held at Awain-e-Iqbal on Wednesday. According to a handout issued here, 445 students who got top three positions in the secondary school certificate and intermediate examinations were awarded cash prizes worth Rs 4 lac, 3 lac and 2 lac, whereas, the teachers were awarded Rs 2 lac, Rs 1.5lac and Rs 1 lac, respectively.

LAHORE:November 29: Educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities which were closed, across Punjab, in the wake of sit-ins by religious parties will reopen today (Wednesday). Meanwhile, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE), Lahore has issued revised schedule for those practical exams of Intermediate Supplementary Examination 2017, which were postponed owing to abrupt closure of educational institutions. The practical exams which were scheduled for November 27, and November 28, but were postponed, would be held now on December 6 and 7, 2017, respectively.

Programme will operate in five constituent, affiliate institutions.

LAHORE:12 November: About 53.91% candidates passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Supplementary Examination 2017 from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore. The bise lahore announced the supplementary examination results on Saturday, in which a total of 28,044 candidates appeared. Out of the total, 15,119 candidates were declared successful by the bise lahore with a total pass percentage of 53.91%.

Education boards told to ensure transparency in exams

LAHORE:September 15: Punjab Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani has asked all the education boards of the province to set up their cluster centres to ensure complete transparency in the conduction of exams in a secure environment. While addressing the Inter Board Chairman Committee (IBCC) meeting on Thursday at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore office, the minister said that the heads of the education boards would identify suitable pieces of lands in consultation with the district administration concerned for setting up their cluster centres.

Over 62% pass BISE intermediate exam

LAHORE:September 13:As many as 62.48% candidates passed the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore Intermediate Part I & II (Annual) Examination 2017. A total of 155,122 candidates appeared in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Annual Examination 2017, out of which 96,927 candidates passed the exam, bringing the total success rate to 62.48%. CM congratulates intermediate exams position holders

LAHORE:September 13: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the students who secured top positions in the intermediate examinations of educational boards in the province. In his message of felicitation, the chief minister said that the students getting positions with their abilities and hard work had made their parents and teachers proud. “Such brilliant students are our heroes... The hard work of these students ... [proves] that nothing is impossible if hard work is employed and it is my conviction that one can achieve glory and honour in society with hard work,” he added.
